Ving Tsun Forms

A Ving Tsun student begins building a foundation in the Ving Tsun Kung Fu system by studying the first form, Siu Nim Tao.  This form (set of movements) presents the student with the concept of centerline, proper body alignment, breathing, and the basic hand positions of Ving Tsun.  By practicing and studying the Siu Nim Tao form and its kung fu principles, a student will also begin to develop an understanding of body structure, balance, coordination, sensitivity, speed, timing, and the ability to generate tremendous power.

Furthermore, the study of Siu Nim Tao will also develop a student’s stance (known as the “horse”) and reveal the importance of relaxation.  All of the above are essential before the student begins the practice of Chi Sao.

Below are the 6 forms that make up the complete Ving Tsun Kung Fu System of martial arts.

Siu Nim Tao - "little begining idea" First Ving Tsun form which contains the basic vocabulary of the system. Your training begins and ends with this form.
